The Hattie M. Wiggins Beacon of Light, Inc. donated several baskets of Gift Sets to women at a local domestic violence shelter.
Many times women at these domestic violence shelters leave with just the clothes on her back. Blessing them with gift baskets full of pampering products donated from various people across the nation gave them a sense of hope.

The Favor House Domestic Violence Shelter works to help women find solace in leaving volatile situations and facing moments of healing.
A Gift of Love Goes a Long Way
"We love getting baskets and gifts for the women, it makes them feel special and gives them some form of encouragement." the Director shared with us. If you haven't been in that position, then you really wouldn't know. Some people may ask, "Why would that be important? Why don't you just get them some clothes or something they really could use?" Yes, those things are important and necessary. But for a woman who's already feeling like a failure in her relationship or as a parent if she has her children in the shelter with her...getting something to make her experience some form of normalcy is a godsend.
I tell people all the time, until you walk a few steps in my shoes, you can't say what you would or wouldn't do in my situation or even what you might feel. Being there for others to make a difference is who I am. When you've been in that dark valley space, it gives you a glimmer of hope when someone shows that they care.
