HMWBOLI and Volunteers at the Ronald McDonald House

Updated: Apr 30, 2021

The Hattie M. Wiggins Beacon of Light, Inc. and the Empowerment Christian Center Intl. partnered to feed the families of the local Ronald McDonald House for Christmas.

Nothing says "Merry Christmas" like savory hot breakfast with sweets and treats to fill the tummy.

Have a Holly Jolly Christmas!

"This is just like Christmas morning! Thank you all for cooking!"-Parent of child

The HMWBOLI and the members of the Empowerment Christian Center, Int. in Pensacola, Florida joined forces to help spread cheer this year with tasty morsels of breakfast food.

Feeding to Spread some Joy!

The HMWBOLI and the ECC church members met up at 5 a.m. to begin prep of cooking a Pre-Christmas Breakfast just before the church service. The Pastors of the ministry believe in community outreach and they have a love for the children. So they partnered together to spread some joy with both organizations. The children at the RMH are usually there because they have life-threatening illnesses and they need long term care. The RMH provides lodging and meals to their families so that they are close to the hospital where their children are receiving care.

Feed the Stomach, Touch the Heart

The way to a person's heart is through their stomach?

I heard as a child and then again as an adult, the phrase: "The way to a man's heart is through his stomach." I say that the way to anyone's heart is through their stomach. Good food with family and friends is always special when the cook has blessed hands. Having the opportunity to feed those you love is always a joy, but when it comes to sharing the gift of a meal for someone who is feeling down is heavenly. The HMWBOLI is a ministry of helps just like our church. We both know how to feed the belly and the soul. Spreading joy with kind words and delicious food at a time when you know the person(s) just want to roll over and wish their situation away takes

Get Involved

I believe it's so important to be there for someone else. When you've been in a situation where you had no clue what was going to happen, a word or deed from someone means everything. We hope you will join us in providing meals to the families at the Ronald McDonal house so that a meal, is one less thing they will have to worry about. We had so much fun we returned to do a lunch for the families the next week. Maybe you can join us next time.
